ROSH HASHANAH 2019: DATES AND MEANING
Happy almost Jewish New Year! For those that don’t know, Rosh Hashanah is a two day celebration marking the beginning of the Jewish High Holy Days.
WHEN IS ROSH HASHANAH 2019?
Rosh Hashanah 2019 begins at sundown on September 29 and continues through nightfall on October 1.
It is typically celebrated with a large family meal, comprised of symbolic foods meant to bring luck in the New Year.
A TIME FOR NEW RESOLUTIONS
Whether you’re into making Rosh Hashanah resolutions or not; the beginning of Fall and celebrating the coming of year 5780 is the perfect time to bring change into our lives. We have come up with some fun, easily achievable resolutions to help you attain your goals and kick this year off right!
1.) SPEND MORE TIME WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY
With how busy life can get and how quickly time passes (a new year already?!); it is amazing how we lose track of what’s truly important. This Rosh Hashanah and in this coming year, be sure to spend time with your loved ones. Offer to host the meal, or volunteer to bring some side dishes! Food truly brings people together and there is no better way to bond with loved ones than to enjoy an exceptional meal together.
2.) LET GO OF GRUDGES
It is easy to hold grudges and whenever a big holiday comes around we are reminded of how long we have held onto our disdain. Reach out to anyone that comes to mind as you are reading this and extend that olive branch–you will enter the new year feeling lighter than before. Have any grudges about certain foods? Ever had chopped liver? Now is the chance! Ours is delicious and a modern take on a traditional classic, sweetened up with a little brandy and perfect for your celebration.
3.) LIVING A HEALTHIER LIFESTYLE
A tale as old as time...making a resolution to eat healthier or finally use that gym membership. However; this isn’t going where you think. Choosing naturally and ethically sourced ingredients is one of the easiest ways to begin eating healthy. By avoiding heavily processed goods, you are already eating healthier. Consider walking the long way home for some more exercise and begin limiting your diet to only naturally sourced ingredients. Start with our extensive selection of locally sourced goods we sell in store and online. Oh and P.S...everything on our catering menu is made of locally sourced ingredients.
