If you're an avid fan of Yelp, you might know that Yelp frequently teams up with food establishments to host gatherings for elite members: opportunities for the food-obsessed and those whom cater to them to get to know each other!
This past month, we were lucky to be able to welcome Elite Yelpers into our cozy shop for some serious snack-age and light (or maybe not so light...) drinking.
Visitors were greeted at the front with a sampling spread of our best and most-loved goods: a platter of 24-month Prosciutto di Parma, a cheese selection of L'Amuse Brabander Goat Gouda, Garrotxa, and Fourme d'Ambert, and On Fleek Stout, Insetto American Wild Ale, and Mikkeller beer. Our floor manager, Melissa, was there to field any questions on the individual cheeses, meats, and beer.
Our proprietor, Mandy, manned the salad section, handing out samples to anyone who was interested and offering fun facts on the farm-fresh, local ingredients we use.
Ben, our head Cheesemonger, set up shop in the back with a cheeseboard for Yelpers to sample from. He chose to sample some Larder classics like the Ossau Iraty, San Joaquin, and Bismark, paired with Dardiman's dried fruit slices and quince jam paste. Our floor manager, Nicole, poured some refreshing Barrika Basque cider and Stillwater's Artisanal Sake-style Saison to help wash the cheese down.
A huge thank you Peter and his team at Yelp for helping us organize this event! Another thank you to Essex Cheese and Barrika Basque cider for helping provide the refreshments and cheese.
Thank you, Yelpers, stopping by the Larder and for making this such a fun event for us to host. We can't wait to see you all back in the store.
