April Cheese of the Month - BKLYN Larder
April 2022 Cheese of the Month is available now, and will be shipped out the third Wednesday or Thursday of the month. There are three types of boxes available, just cheese, cheese & chocolate, and cheese & meat! Depending on the box you have selected, you will receive a combination of the cheese and/or chocolate & meat below.

Springtime is just over the corner, and nothing beats New York in spring! This month, we have exciting New York-made selections, with Brooklyn based BK Cured, Raaka, and Crown Finish Caves, rounded out with an all American made selection.

Prairie Breeze, Milton Creamery(Included in all three boxes)
An award winning cheese and BKLYN Larder favorite, Prairie Breeze began on a small farm, Milton Creamery, by the Musser family. Still owned by the Mussers, their cheese is produced with classic techniques and only uses milk sourced from local Amish dairy farmers within a 30 mile radius of Milton Creamery. A versatile white cheddar, Prairie Breeze has a creamy texture yet a solid crumble.

Gatekeeper, Crown Finish Caves & Old Chatham Sheepherding Co.(Included in all three boxes)
A true #MadeInNY cheese. Buttery and smooth, Gatekeeper is cider washed with Graft’s Farm Flor Cider–a slightly sour cider from New York. This triple-cream cheese is made at Old Chatham Sheepherding in Upstate New York, with a mix of cow and sheep milk before maturing in Brooklyn at Crown Finish Caves. A funky, creamy, and dense cheese. 

Cupola, Red Barn Family Farms(Cheese Box Only)
From Wisconsin comes Cupola by Red Barn Family Farms, a semi-hard cheese known for being small batch and made from locally sourced milk. Light in flavor with slight caramel notes, Cupola pairs well with rich bold flavors. Cupola is a great snacking cheese or addition to any cheese board

BK Cured Hot Sopressata: (Cheese & Meat Box Only)
Dry cured Italian salami with layers of spice in black pepper, fresh ground fennel, garlic, chili flakes, and paprika. A slight smokiness gives it depth and a base for the spices to fall on. Small batch made by Brooklyn Cured, right here in New York!

Pre sliced Charlito’s Campo Seco(Cheese & Meat Box Only)
Pork salami handcrafted by Charlitos in Germantown, New York, simple yet sophisticated. Pairs well without overpowering other flavors, but accompanying well with multiple profiles. Infused with hand-harvested fleur de sel.

Raaka Bourbon Cask: (Cheese & Chocolate Box Only)
Small batch, single origin Tanzanian cacao… and aged in bourbon casks for two months. An oaky and smooth, cocktail-like taste that’s enhanced by its aging process and balanced with a sweet hint of maple sugar to bring out a creamy smokiness. 

Ritual Belize Single Origin: (Cheese & Chocolate Box Only)
Single origin, bean-to-bar artisanal chocolate made with organic cacao grown by Mayan farmers in the Toledo district of Belize. A deep and rich flavor with notes of dried fig and smoky tobacco, for a rustic finish.
