Capriole Goat Cheese

Capriole Cheese Makers was started by Judith Schad, with her husband Larry on their farm in Indiana, in the 70’s. She was one of the first woman cheese makers in America to make handmade goat cheese. She is what we would call an OG cheesemaker, and one of the nicest people. We are happy to be able to carry her cheese at the shop

Wabash Cannonball - American semi-soft, ash-coated goat cheese.  Named after a famous folk song, it is known for its small, spherical shape and complex flavor profile that balances bright, citrusy notes with earthy, musty aromas. The cheese has won numerous awards, including the American Cheese Society's Best in Show, and is considered a pioneering American artisan cheese. 4 oz. 

Tea Rose- When Capriole began in the 1970s, Tea Rose stood out as one of the best goats in the herd. Sweet tempered and a prolific milk producer, Tea Rose went on to mother many daughters. Her lineage is still present in the herd today. Tea Rose is still featured on all Capriole labels, and this cheese is named in her honor. Tea Rose is a fresh chevre dusted with fennel pollen, rose petals, lavender, and other assorted herbs. With its fresh, bright curd, and its shower of herbs and aromatic flower petals. 6oz.
